Overall last year was quite successful – I completed my two ‘A’ races (Jurassic Coast 100 and TDS) while at the same time acquiring 12 extra ITRA points to enter the UTMB in 2019.

So depending on whether I’m successful in the 2019 draw for UTMB, that will be my main event of the year. If not, then I’ll have to pick another autumn ultra to keep myself ticking over.

Trail des Passerelles Monteynard

The 65km Trail des Passerelles Monteynard is a local race which I actually DNF’d on a couple of years ago due to heat exhaustion. It’s a great location, taking in the trails around a huge artificial lake and crossing at certain points using the Himalayan style bridges. This year it’s also on Bastille Day.

It also has the advantage of giving me enough ITRA points to keep in contention for next year’s UTMB draw should I fail to get in this year.
